We are studying the tensions of following Christ: the teachings of Scripture that require us to hold to beliefs, principles, and even practices that pull against each other.
For example, in Matthew 5, Jesus told his followers to let their good works shine before men, yet in Matthew 6, he told his followers to pray in secret. Some might say these are contradictions.
Our premise is that there is no conflict or contradiction in Scripture, but rather a comprehensive picture of the fullness of the Lord we worship and holistic and comprehensive instruction on living full lives that please Him.
We are convinced that those who understand and appreciate these tensions become better followers of Christ.
